THE LIFE OF A TEENAGE GIRL
“Tomorrow, Saturday night.”
“Like… a date?”
I honestly don’t know why I said that. I think I just assumed he
meant hanging out like a Saturday night date kind of thing. It sounded
like that to me. And like I said—I’m pretty sure he likes me. But still,
I kind of regretted asking if it was a “date.”
“Well, no—not really. Unless that’s what you want. I mean, I
thought it could be like a friend hangout, since we just started talking
less than a week ago,” he answered.
I totally agreed, though. “Of course. A friend’s hangout is fine.”
“Great. I’ll meet you in the park around 6 p.m. See you there.”
I waved goodbye, and he ended the call.
I was so happy this was happening—it was my first time going out
with a boy, and I couldn’t believe it! I wanted to tell Jayson about it
and how happy I was, but… because of the silent argument we’d been
having all week, I didn’t feel like telling him. Just like at school, when
he found out about me and Chris, he’d be upset.
