CHAPTER 11
I
flopped on my bed, flat on my stomach, right after I changed into
good clothes, burying my whole face—full of tears—on the bed.
I just couldn’t believe it.
Actually, I could. But I didn’t expect it—from my own 11-year-
old best friend—to dump our relationship. Over a boy.
Minutes later, after I sobbed for a while, a knock was heard on my
door. My parents were both asleep, so it must be Myra.
“Hey, are you awake?” she peeped in.
I nodded, and she came in to sit on the side of my bed.
“I saw you come late. Did the hangout go well?”
“It was… good. I had a fun time with my friend, but—”
She gazed at me. “But? It turned bad later, right?”
“No. When I was coming back home, I met Jayson at his house,
walking Perrie—his dog. And since this week started, he’s been angry
at me for a reason I thought was stupid. But now I regret making the
decision.” I shook my head and turned away.
“Wait, what decision? And why was he angry? Jayson barely gets
angry.”
Myra was totally right. I don’t remember the last time Jayson got
angry—other than this week. Especially at me. And even if he was, it
was probably because we were fighting over a stupid thing.
