It’s hard to believe that almost a year ago I was standing on this stage when my name was called as your new Miss Tennessee Teen Volunteer. It was such an honor to represent Tennessee this year and even more exciting to compete for the national title! The amount of work required by so many people to make the Volunteer program successful at the state level is unbelievable, and so many of the same people worked tirelessly to accomplish the first ever Miss Teen Volunteer America Pageant.
Through this experience I have met so many wonderful people who have influenced my life in such a positive way. The many friends I’ve made and relationships I’ve built will be with me forever. Thank you is just not enough when I think of each and every one of you who poured into me the love and support that I neededtorepresentourstate,notonlyforourlocalpageantsystem,butalsoonthenationalstage. Iwill carry your kindness and the many lessons I learned with me for the rest of my life.
Ms. Stacy, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the work you have put into the Volunteer program. I have honestly never seen anyone give so much of themselves without asking for anything in return. I admire your patience, commitment, and passion. Your desire to see everyone do their best is one of the things I appreciate the most about you. I am forever grateful for the things you have taught me, you lead by example and your example has made the Volunteer system what it is today.
Emily Anne, Tammy, and Jeni Beth, thank you for encouraging me, and also every young woman withintheMissTennesseeVolunteerFamilytobethebestversionofthemselves. Havingyouthereto support all of us at local pageants and events around Tennessee this year has been a source of strength for me, and I will cherish every memory.
PaigeofJoann’s,Iamsofortunatetohavehadtheopportunitytogetworkwithyou. Youandyourstaff worked so hard to make sure I had the perfect competition wardrobe for Teen Volunteer America. Your sense of style for each and every girl you work with amazes me. Thank you for your wisdom and advice. None of this would have been possible without you!
Darren Lykes, your talent is remarkable, and you have a special gift of finding the beauty in everyone. Your patience and commitment to making sure my photos were perfect is something I will never forget. Because of you, my memories fromone of the most precious times in my life are forever captured.
Gina Hampton, thank you for always making me look and feel amazing. I have never felt more beautiful than when I am in your chair. The Volunteer system is lucky to have you as a sponsor and friend.
Amelia, it was an honor to get to know you. Your hard work and commitment to this pageant system set a great example for everyone to follow. You were the perfect example of who Miss Tennessee Volunteer should be.
Mary, I could not have asked for a better sister queen, your encouragement and advice throughout this year has helped me grow and I am so thankful for your friendship.
Eva and Bella, how lucky I am to have had both of you as sister queens. You are both outstandingyoungladiesand IcannotwaittoseebothofyoucontinuetoexcelintheMiss Tennessee Volunteer Family.
Liz & Austin, the two of you are like family to me. You make me want to be the very best I can be in so manydifferentareasofmylife. Workingwithyouhasforeverchangedme.Yourguidanceandsupport has made your titleholders successful again and again.
Ms. Suzanne,youweretherefromtheverybeginning.YousawsomethinginmethatIdidn’tseein myself, and your guidance in my life from the age of 13 has made all the difference in who I am and what I have accomplished. I would not be who I am without you!
There are people who come into your life for a reason, and I can honestly say that Sydney and Genevieve came at the perfect time. It’s rare to find true friends and I am lucky to have you to share the fun times and have someone to lean on when things aren’t perfect. Ms Kristen has been such a support throughout this entire process, and I have enjoyed our time together.
To my entire family, you are the best support system anyone could ask for. Mom, Dad, and Todd, I can’t remember a time where I didn’t look up to see you all in the crowd cheering for me. A special thank you to my Pappa and Miriam, you have been my number one fans through everything that I do (big or small)! My siblings and grandparents, and extended family, no matter what I’ve done you were right there with me every step of the way.
To the new Miss Tennessee Teen Volunteer, the year ahead of you will be one you will never forget. You will stand for such an important organization, but I assure you, you will never stand alone!
