P. 7
To the City of Jackson,
As I reflect on my year as Miss Tennessee Volunteer, Jackson has become a home away from home and a community that
I have fallen in love with. The hospitality and kindness of
the City of Jackson has been unmatched as they continue to support The Miss Tennessee Volunteer pageant and the new Miss Volunteer America Pageant.
Pageant week is always full of nerves and excitement for every contestant, but the smiling faces of support from businesses and the Jackson community throughout the week always gives such a sense of peace and calm to the contestants.
Great leadership leads to great communities and Jackson has wonderful leadership in Mayor Conger and Mayor Harris. I cannot thank them enough for their support of me, my year and our program. The support you both continually provide and your belief in this program have helped me and many other young women pursue great opportunities and further their education.
Walking into the Carl Perkins Civic Center and seeing the portraits of all the women who have paved the way right here in Jackson is an inspiration not only to me, but to so many other young women with a dream.
Thank you for allowing me to represent the state of Tennessee and the City of Jackson. Not only are you having an impact on young women across the state of Tennessee but the nation. I am so grateful to have been crowned in the city of Jackson. This would not be possible without all of you.
Love always,
Amelia Collins
