Keith Hellstern
The Varsity Head Football Coach of Fairfield
Prep is Social Studies teacher, Keith
Hellstern. Hellstern, has a 69-33 record and
has led Prep to the playoffs in 6 out of his 10
seasons at the helm, Prep teams under
Coach Hellstern have participated in 12 post
season games more then any other period in
Prep history, including appearances in the
State Championship Game in 2021 and 2022.
Coach Hellstern entering his 11th season as
head coach arrived at Prep having already
served on numerous college and high school
coaching staffs including: Amherst College,
Columbia University, Wesleyan University,
The Hotchkiss School, The Dwight School and
Poly Prep Country Day School. Hellstern has
been the strength and conditioning coach as well as the Defensive Coordinator
for Prep Football beginning in 2010. Hellstern, a Glen Ridge, New Jersey native,
Hellstern played his high school football at Glen Ridge High School and went on
to play collegiately at Wesleyan University as an offensive and defensive
lineman.
