I’ve made good decisions and bad. So have most people.
However, I’ve always swung for the fence, which made my swings a bit more exuberant and brought about a great deal more pain when I struck out in the ninth inning.
As I review the choices I’ve made, it is obvious to me that I’ve been driven by outside forces more often than I would like — the need to take a position I knew wasn’t right because I needed or wanted the money.
Trying to impress people rather than make good, solid decisions in the best interest of all concerned.
Starting or going into companies where something told me it was a crazy idea, but my positive nature did it anyway and...
Partnering with people who were not trustworthy or competent. I’ve done it all.
But I will not give up. There’s too much life left—but not enough to keep riding that roller coaster. To put it in a nutshell, I want to get off and stay off, and begin climbing the mountain without slipping back any more.
