movement towards collaborative solutions has not only seen the introduction of superior voice quality and coverage, but a growing requirement for non-voice communication tools and enterprise workflow applications. This provides the channel with the opportunity to become
the ‘one-stop-shop’, offering integrated mobility, data and applications on a single UC platform, whether this is a hosted private cloud solution or UC as a Service (UCaaS) multi-tenant cloud solution.
UCaaS is proving to be the most popular, due to its increasing functionality and competitive pricing, which are contributing to driving its market momentum over primary alternatives. According to the Gartner Magic Quadrant report(2), key UC market trends are:
MOBILE-FIRST DEPLOYMENT
UCaaS vendors report an acceleration of mobile first deployments. It is increasingly common
for users to have a major segment of their workforce not use a traditional desktop-based phone. Their voice communication is entirely through mobile devices, and Gartner expects this mobile-only trend to accelerate. As a result, more and more companies require their existing partners to offer integrated mobility solutions.
VENDOR DIFFERENTIATION
The Magic Quadrant graphic identifies two pockets of differentiated vendors. First, in the challengers’ quadrant, we find Google and Microsoft. Both vendors provide a scalable UCaaS portfolio that is low-cost and intuitive, strong in Instant Messaging (IM), Presence, Mobility, Unified Messaging (UM) and Video-Conferencing – and both are seeing increasing adoption. The second set of differentiated vendors fare well on the vision

XOP Networks’ Easy
Click-to-Call Service
Eliminates Long Distance
DALLAS, TX - XOP Networks, Inc., a manufacturer of Value-Added Service platforms has announced the first deployment of its WebRTC based Click-To-Call VAS Application.
XOP Networks’ Universal Service Node (USN) platform offers Audio Conferencing, Web Conferencing, Video Conferencing, Hoot and Holler, Firebar Crash Phone, and Mass Notification applications. Click-To-Call is the newest addition to the USN.
This application enables one click calling
from any web enabled device. The call is entirely internet based and does not require access to the public network resulting in no additional cost
over the ISP cost. The voice quality is equivalent
to calls going over the Public Switched Telephone Network. This first deployment is for a Virtual Call Center. In a Virtual Call Center, the call center agents and the customers interact with each other by dialing into an audio conference bridge. With Click-To-Call application the call center agents are now able to connect to the bridge via a WebRTC based voice call over the Internet.
Since phone calls are no longer required, the Call Center is able to eliminate a large number of voice trunks from its network. The long-distance charges for call center agents are eliminated. The call center agents also do not need a business phone line and by eliminating these costs, the call center is able to significantly reduce its overall network cost.
“We are excited to add Click-To-Call to our already extensive suite of VAS applications. This first deployment is just the first of many for this application. We envision many other organizations taking advantage of the convenience and cost savings this application provides,” added Sudhir Gupta, CEO of XOP Networks. n

axis and include; RingCentral, 8x8, and Fuze, who all run proprietary UCaaS application stacks, while also being service providers. These vendors are strong in innovation but lack in market execution, they are therefore seeking partnerships to offer that ‘one-stop-shop’ solution sought after by customers.
API SUPPORT
In addition to requiring an integrated platform, customers are also demonstrating a strong interest in connecting their UCaaS functionality with other cloud applications, this is primarily accomplished with APIs. There is a strong demand as customers seek that one consolidated approach to the provision of a communication platform, tools, and a mobility solution that offers immediate, anywhere access to colleagues, data and applications.
With the trends indicating mobility as a growing business need, it is important to prepare a ‘business’ case to help sell and maximize this opportunity. Your customers will have a wish list, but their requirements tend to be simple; coverage, low total cost of ownership and integration!
When looking for a solution that offers the best coverage, DECT and/or Wi-Fi solutions are generally perceived to be the leading technologies. These solutions are easily optimized for the host PBX, IP-PBX or UC platform, with specific applications to improve productivity and workflow processes, while supporting roaming and handover throughout a larger in-building area, guaranteeing interference free mobility.
With the enterprise mobility market buoyant with innovation there is a significant mobility market opportunity for the channel and those willing to provide their customers
It is increasingly common for users to have a major segment of their workforce not use a traditional desktop-based phone
with an understanding of the possibilities and enhancements – not to mention the savings they could be making by introducing enterprise mobility. Spanning from enterprise level security to greater productivity, regardless of their sector, enabling customers to grasp these benefits will undoubtedly drive them to become more loyal and valuable customers to your business. n

Service Providers Speed Deployment, Reduce Costs with Patton Cloud Edge Orchestration Service
Now, Telecom and UCaaS service providers can easily provision, manage, monitor, secure, alert, troubleshoot, analyze, and optimize services on the customer premise
GAITHERSBURG, MD - Patton Electronics - US-manufacturer of UC, cloud, and IoT- enabling solutions for carrier, enterprise, and industrial networks– has launched the new Patton Cloud service for carriers and service providers that deliver All-IP and hybrid voice-and-data services to business subscribers.
Patton Cloud delivers a low-cost, easy-to- use, web-based edge-orchestration service that delivers a superior user experience.
It offers remote touchless provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting—as well as security and alerting tools that reduce service turn-up costs, trouble tickets, and subscriber attrition.
The Patton Cloud service offers quality- control mechanisms including pro-active monitoring and troubleshooting – combined with feature-license distribution pools for managing value-added services.
“When you add it all up this thing is going to make carrier-providers’ lives so much easier,” said Burton A. Patton (Burt), Executive Vice President. “The promise of Cloud is now very real for UC and telecom
service delivery.”
“We have made service provisioning a
fully-automated process. By delivering software feature licensing as-a-service at the network edge, providers can pool their license inventory across all their session border controllers and other CPE devices,” Burt said.

TrueConf Launches TrueConf Enterprise for Corporations and Telcos
TrueConf has introduced TrueConf Enterprise, a competitive video conferencing solution for corporations and telcos. TrueConf Enterprise allows customers to effectively manage and scale video conferencing infrastructure
across large, complex organizations at an affordable price, as well as search, view and call external server users.
TrueConf Enterprise customers can take full advantage of a shared license pool. The master server will automatically distribute the licences between servers depending
on an organization’s video conferencing network load and the individual set of parameters for each TrueConf Server instance. Thanks to the new feature, users
can optimize their VPN workload and boost video conferencing by adding edge instances to network users in every remote location.
TrueConf also released an update for
TrueConf Directory, an extension that allows common video conferencing network users to find each other and view the structure of user groups in a company’s branches or departments.
TrueConf Directory features decentralized architecture based on API and secret key exchange between connected TrueConf Server instances, performing auto-syncing of all Enterprise network users. This secure solution provides enhanced fault tolerance, quick search and global user list display.
“We believe that our new solution will open up new opportunities for TrueConf ’s corporate customers and telecommunications operators,” comments Dmitry Odintsov, Chief Business Development Officer at TrueConf. “We are constantly modernizing our video conferencing system and the growing number of our customers is a testament to their satisfaction with our products.” More at www.trueconf.com. n
