FEATURED PARADE HOME
    THE VISION
The vision for our 2021 Parade Home was inspired by the modern American family and the unique challenges they faced in 2020. We were motivated to create a space for clients who felt cut off from loved ones, and who struggled with inadequate work/learn-from-home situations. Our primary goal was to build a home that promoted a feeling of warmth and safety. We achieved this by using sawn-cut stone masonry in and outside
of the home. We thoughtfully selected a neutral color palette, being careful to avoid stark whites, faux and heavy tones. Our second goal was to design a floor plan that was practical, flexible, and simplified everyday living. We avoided palatial “wing-like” layouts that separate important areas of the home. We focused
on ergonomic room clustering and organized spaces based on traffic and use. Our third goal was to provide each individual with ample personal space, while promoting togetherness. Architectural features, like the 16’ see-through fireplace, replaces a traditional wall and provides a sense of connectedness, while offering a measure of privacy. Likewise, we went with a single- story plan that incorporated a billiard/media room as part of the daily living space, versus an annexed space that is rarely used.
