  What’s Cool in Schools
Central Middle School
Melbourne-based Harris Corporation and the Space Foundation visited Central Middle school to engage students in space-related STEM activities as part of its “Space in the Community Day” program. Students also enjoyed meeting NASA Space Shuttle Astronaut Colonel (Ret.) Bob Springer and learning about his experiences. The event was featured on News13.
   Clearlake BLAST Program
 Students from the Clearlake BLAST
program were the recipients of an
incredible holiday surprise, compli-
ments of the Cocoa Wal-Mart. Store
managers fulfilled the wish lists of
all 23 students, providing everything
from electronics to bicycles, crafting
materials to clothing. The Wal-Mart team joined with Cocoa Fire and Police Departments to provide a motorcade for Santa to deliver the gifts to the Clearlake facility. In addition to these gifts, Cocoa Wal-Mart provided a Thanksgiving feast for all the BLAST students and
managers and staff generously donate their time and money toward enhancing the lives of
these young adults with disabilities.
University Park Elementary
Love INC of Brevard was blessed with a donation of beautiful afghan blankets made by Principal, Ana Diaz, and some of the teachers at University Park Elementary. The donated blankets were used as #GivingTuesday raffle prizes to help raise funds for the non-profit that unites local churches to help people in
need and serve the community through a movement aptly named LOVEBrevard. University Park Elementary and Love INC became community partners last summer when LOVEBrevard served the school by painting 32 classrooms, improving the campus landscaping and renovating the teacher’s lounge.
