The students of Edgewood share their wisdom regarding study tips. Story by Rhiannon Drysdale
When most people think of Edgewood, they think of academics first. The school is well known for this, after all—and for good reason.
To even qualify for the lottery to get in, an applicant must
have a minimum C average and at least a Level 3 on the English/Language Arts and Mathematics FSA exams. Getting into Edgewood is hard enough, but staying here is even harder, as students are required to take at least
one Advanced Placement (AP) class and cannot fail a single course during their entire time at this school.
On that note, all Edgewood students have something to be proud of, even if they might not feel like it sometimes. Seventh graders and other newcomers
met the minimum requirements, and returning students have successfully made it through at least one year in a school where the easiest classes offered are honors-level. To hold themselves to this standard of
excellence, good study habits are quite necessary. With midterms on the horizon, students from seventh graders to
seniors have shared their own tips and tricks for success.
While midterms
looming just around the corner, it is important to remember that as important as doing well academically is, it is most certainly not
everything. Take a break from time to time, and try not to stress too much.
It might just pay off.

CRAM
Don’t put it off until the very last minute. Cramming is awful, and generally isn’t that helpful in the end.
-Wyatt Wtipil, 10
-Lia Ranon, 11
I would recommend not cramming last minute, because if you stay up and cram you will not remember it.
           Go over everything your teacher
went over.
-Ryan Fayaz, 8
You could go onto Quizlet... then study
that way.
-Rhythm Hurston, 7
I find it helps... to just write down everything, it helps me remember.
I always study the night before, just in case, so that I remember the information the next day.
-Bella Mancini, 11
-Angelina Boughanem, 9
