Brevard Adult Education Presented the Brevard County Apprenticeship Showcase
Brevard Adult Education celebrated National Apprenticeship Week with an Ap- prenticeship Showcase job and information fair on Thursday, November 15, 2018. The event was open to the public from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Brevard Adult Education partnered with CareerSource Brevard and several local apprenticeship programs. There were several trades represented at the showcase including: con- struction, electrical, HVAC, manufacturing, masonry, pipefitting, plumbing, sheet metal, and utility construction (line erector). Students and community members visited each of the vendor tables to learn about career opportunities in the trades.
The purpose of the event was to find a meaningful way to promote
National Apprenticeship Week and to promote Brevard Adult Education’s Adult
Pre-Apprenticeship program which is launching spring term 2019. Brevard Adult
Education students who enroll in the pre-apprenticeship program will have an
opportunity to learn about the trades and to earn a NCCER Core Curriculum, CPT,
first aid/CPR and OSHA 10 certificates by the completion of the program. One of our goals at Brevard Adult Education is to expose and prepare our students for various career pathways.
Overall, we had a great,
fun-filled, informative event! For more information about the Brevard Adult Education’s Adult Pre-Apprenticeship Program, please call 321-633-3660, ext. 147.
