School Closure
Day-to-day decisions decisions for schools to to to remain open or or or to to to close are local decisions decisions made in in collaboration with the Department of Health • The Response
Team will will review each situation to determine the decisions that will will be made based upon both health and operational concerns as as as as as well as as as as past practice in tin in mitigating infectious disease • When a a a a a a school is no longer able to to to safely function due to to to to employee absence and the inability to to to to fill those positions a a a a a a a school school may be subject to to to a a a a a a a temporary school school closure • Schools whose enrollments fall below minimum capacity to to run efficiently and effectively may be be combined to to offer students continuity o of services Although BPS recognizes the the invaluable role volunteers and and parents play in in the the the educational process student and and staff safety require the the limitation of non-essential people on on on campus • Visitors in schools are are limited to to parents or or legal guardians:
• registering students for school • attending requested school meetings • checking in in or out students • Authorized visitors are required to to wear face coverings when social distancing cannot be main- tained or upon request of the school employees
Non-essential visitors and volunteers will not be permitted on on school campuses to to to include walking students students to to class class eating lunch with students students or or attending classroom events or celebrations
• Parents may not not drop off items for student pick up that are are not not medically or or academically required Contracted service providers will be be required to to complete a a a a a a a self screening prior to to to being allowed on campus and they must adhere to to all all school health guidelines
