This guide is is designed to help parents of middle and and high school students plan and and prepare for postsecond- ary success All of Brevard Public Schools’ graduation paths include opportunities to to take rigorous academic courses designed to to prepare students students for their future academic and career choices All students students regardless

• • a a a a a a a a a a a four-year 26-credit graduation option • • • an an an International International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum • • an an an Advanced International International Certificate
of Education (AICE) curriculum • an an Academically Challenging Curriculum to Enhance Learning (ACCEL) 18-credit graduation option 26-credit option This program takes the traditional four years to to complete high school and requires students to to take take at least 26 cred- its in in core content areas Although earning world language credit credit is is is not required required it it it it is is is recommended for Florida college preparation and 2 credits of a a a a a a a a a a a world language is is is is required required for admission to Florida’s state state universities Many competi- tive schools (insatet and out of of of state) require 3-4 credits of of of World Languages A student student may have the the option of of of early graduation graduation if the the the student student meets graduation graduation requirements in less

is a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a rigorous pre-university course of study leading to internationally standardized tests The program’s comprehensive two-year curriculum allows its graduates to fulfill requirements of many different nations’ education systems Students completing IB cours- es es and exams from six subject groups are eligible for college credit credit The award of credit credit is based on on on scores achieved
