As with all things pandemic related it it seems as if if change is a a a a a a weekly if if not daily reality The Heart of Brevard summer issue was originally slated
to to showcase our graduation celebrations and academic achievements for for the year along with typical back-to- school information As with many things these days this issue will look
a a a a a a a a a bit different than its’ original intent We felt it it it it it it was necessary to provide our our our families and community with helpful resources that meet the needs of our our our current environment Listed within these pages you will find:

• And more With the health and and safety of of its 9 000+ 000+ employees and and 70 000+ 000+ students students top of of mind Brevard Public Schools stood ready to to to reconnect with students students on on August 24th and inspire a a a a renewed commitment to learning While the the distance learning launched by the the school district back in in in in March was no easy feat it pales in in in in comparison to to to the the level of planning and and logistics nec- essary to to to re-open schools and and and prepare them to to to receive students still in the the midst of a a a a a prolonged pandemic I know that a a a a a a a a a return to routine and “normalcy” is something so so many of of us us are eagerly anticipating While none of of us us know know when that day will actually come we we want our our families and community to to know know that that we we will continue to to serve our our students with excellence as as the standard With that that mission as as our our focus we will remain committed to our our 2020-21 organizational priorities which include:
• Continuing to deliver a a a a high-quality educational experience for every student • Elevating the district’s commitment to equity among students and staff
• Educating employees families and community on the need for a a a a a a a sales surtax renewal
