game. Roblox, on the other hand, really is full of little kids. The blocky style of the characters and the bright colors usually catch the eye of younger players, and the extremely easy controls top this off. But probably the biggest pro about Roblox is that if you make a game, and people pay to play it or buy in-game purchases for your game/items, you get actual money. In Minecraft, if you want donations for mini games you make you need people to pay you directly.
Minecraft makes about 75% of their money off of game sales, and the other quarter off merchandise, clothing, toys, etc. While Roblox is free in general,
you have to pay money to unlock things in
certain games and accessories for your
characters. Roblox also makes a lot of
money off of their toy series, which are
figures and toys from their most popular
games. During 2018, Minecraft earned
around $110 million alone just from their
mobile version, while Roblox made about
$70 million total on all their platforms. But one
major factors against Minecraft is that on mobile, Windows 10, and console you actually do have to pay money for different game types, resource packs, and skins, unlike in the regular Java version where these things are free.
Roblox and Minecraft are for different types of people. Minecraft is more of a challenge if you play survival mode, or you could try creative mode and build almost anything you want. In Roblox there is not as much of a challenge because mostly all of the games are party games, there are still some competitive Roblox games like racing games, adventure games, or role playing games. Minecraft and Roblox are both fun and interesting games to play, and either one is a good choice.
