Tonight’s Awards:
Scholarship Award: Awarded to the student whose commitment to their coursework and grades has impressed their teacher.
Leadership Award: Awarded to the student whose ability to positively affect their classroom peers and leads all toward learning.
Determination Award: Awarded to the student whose work ethic does not fal- ter when faced with challenges.
Integrity Award: Awarded to the student whose honesty and respect for their peers and adults is exemplary.
Honor Roll Averages: Due COVID, BPS schools used block scheduling for our coursework this year. This made calculating GPA’s “super fun”. It was decided to use the grades that were recorded for the quarters , rather than try to run for the many nine weeks (which were really four and a half weeks) we conducted. The quarter grades equate to “semester grades”. Quarters 1, 2 and 3 were used to determine all GPAs.
Gold Honor Roll: Awarded to students with a 4.0 GPA for quarters 1, 2 & 3. Silver Honor Roll: Awarded to students with a 3.9-3.5 GPA for quarters 1-3. Bronze Honor Roll: Awarded to students with a 3.49-3.0 GPA for quarters 1-3. Sunshine State Reader Award: Awarded to the student who read three or more of the sunshine state young readers award novels.
Band Director’s Award: Awarded to the student that has shown outstanding leadership and musicianship in band or orchestra.
Most Improved Musician: Awarded to the student who has shown outstanding progress in musicianship in band or orchestra.
All County Band, Chorus and Orchestra Awards: Awarded to the students who have been selected to represent McNair at the All-County Musical Perfor- mances.
Microsoft Office Word Certification: Awarded to the students who have passed all coursework and are now officially certified in the Microsoft Office Word Program.
Microsoft Excel Certification: Awarded to the students who have passed all coursework and are now officially certified in the Microsoft Office Excel Program. Microsoft Office PowerPoint Certification: Awarded to the students who have passed all coursework and are now officially certified in the Microsoft Office PowerPoint Program.
Leveled Up in Reading Award: Awarded to students who consistently in- creased their reading comprehension levels on Reading Plus or Lexia.
