“Hope to Dream” Event Provides 50 Brevard Children the Gift of Sleep
Ashley HomeStore believes that every child should have a bed to call their own. The furniture giant’s “Hope to Dream” program has provided more than 90,000 beds to children in need across the U.S. and Canada since its inception in 2010.
In learning about
the program, Jenifer Clarke, a Head Start family advocate at
Jupiter Elementary, submitted the names of some of her deserving students on the Hope to Dream web site. As a result of her nomination, a total of
50 deserving Brevard County kids from not only Jupiter, but Mims and University Park elementary schools, as well as Clearlake’s VPK program, were selected and treated to an afternoon of fun at Kennedy Space Center followed by a surprise bed reveal. Each child received a twin mattress, bed frame, pillow, sheets, a comforter and other fun items to help foster a happy sleep. For most of these kids, this was the very first real bed they’ve ever slept in or called their own.
