Welcome to the second installment of The Edge for the 2018-19 school year. In this issue we take a look at Edgewood’s past, making certain to provide a clear, accurate telling of Edgewood’s history and silencing any rumors that have come forth over the years. Edgewood is a school that had a rocky start, originally just a junior high, but it blossomed into the school of choice it is today through hard work and a dedicated staff and student body. One thing that we can focus on now is watching what we say when we don’t know all of the facts. Our cover story features quite a few facts that I did not know and I am sure it will surprise many of you. Similarly, each and every person has a story and a history that we may not know so bringing in predispositions is not the right thing to do. Why talk poorly of someone based on an experience that you don’t fully grasp? As a student body, remember to ask what you know and what your role means in each and every situation, you might be surprised to find out that the one quiet kid in your third period has a lot of similar interests, or that the kid you thought was a jerk was just trying to help you, or that maybe you’re in the wrong. Everyone has their own story but together we make Edgewood’s story, so let’s make it something to be remembered.
