African Bush Viper
Even if this colorful snake can’t fly or breathe fire, it still looks downright mythical! The African bush viper is also known as a “green bush viper,” but it can be found in shades of red, orange, gray, yellow, black, blue, and brown. This makes these cool snakes what scientists call polymorphic (pa-lee-MOR-fik). This means that a single species of animal can come in different patterns and colors. They can also change colors as they grow up. These scaly, dragon-like snakes are ambush hunters, so they usually surprise their prey with a while hanging upside down from a tree limb.
