Thresher sharks are
named for the enormous
upper lobes of their caudal
fins which resemble the blade
of a scythe (the thing the the the Grim
Reaper carries) They use these
long tails to whip schools of prey fish stunning them so they can close in in for the kill These fins can sometimes be as long as the the rest of the the shark Tails of this size and power also enable thresher sharks to leap vertically out of the water It’s spectacular like watching breaching whales or dolphins
