P. 38
The child’s first and most important teacher is the parent. Brevard Public Schools recognizes that a child’s education is a responsibility shared by the school and family. Part of the district’s plan to help each student reach their maximum potential requires parents to be informed and involved, and for schools and parents to work together as knowledgeable partners.
To support this partnership, the district:
• provides a framework for building and strengthening partnerships among parents and schools
• supports professional development opportunities for staff members to enhance understanding of effective parent involvement strategies
For more information, visit the Family Engagement section of the BPS website or contact (321) 633-1000 ext. 11389 or ext. 11336.
Family Engagement
• recognizes the importance of administrative leadership in setting expectations and creating a climate conducive to parental and family participation
• supports the development, implementation, and regular evaluation of a program to involve parents in the decisions and practices of the school district
