STIRLING SALE
TIREE TOPS AT STIRLING
A top price of 3600gns was paid for Alasdair Maclean’s
Reserve Champion at the Beltex Scotland Club show and
sale at United Auctions’ Stirling centre on Saturday, 16
September.
Selling to Allan Wright near Argaty, Doune, that was Tiree Herbie,
a son of Clary Globe-Trotter bred ouT of Tiree Foxy, a Corbelly Edit
daughter. He stood second in the shearling ram class and
Reserve Champion before hitting that 3600gns.
Alasdair, from the Hebridean Island, sold a total of 16 shearlings
to average £1719 with two more at 1900gns apiece. First and
selling to the judge, Steven Paterson, for Monzie Farms, was
Tiree Horace which is by Tercrosset Epic while his dam is the
Vicky’s Dumbledore-sired Tiree Ella.
Selling to J & H Grieve, Fowlis Wester, Crieff, was the Horseclose
Power House-bred Tiree Hudson ET, whose dam is the Callacrag
Wise Crack daughter, Tiree Dry Gin.
Three more Tiree rams made 1800gns each – the Buckles Fury-
sired Tiree Haddington sold to Willie Stevenson, Pitlochry; the
Tercrosset Epic son, Tiree High Flyer, sold to A Clark and Son,
Leswalt, Stranraer; and another by Epic in the shape of Tiree
Homer sold to Brian Menzies, Ballinluig.
Second best price at 2200gns was the first ram to sell, Mortons
High Class from Andrew Morton, Denny. Bred from the Gyffin
Dexter-sired Mortons Fool Proof and sired by Ardstewart Fancy
Pants, he sold to D and L Graham, Blairdrummond.
Willie Stevenson paid a further 1900gns for Mortons Haka, this
time by Matt’s Dare Devil and out of Ainstable Eye Catcher, a
Black Jack Casanova daughter.
At 1800gns was the Boothlow F1-sired Mortons Hendricks which
sold to D Fisher, Logiealmond, Perth.
Ochtermuthill Harald from Jimmy Taylor, Muthill, was another
to sell to Allan Wright, this time for 1900gns. His pedigree
features Mortons Freelance on to Ochtermuthill Dee-Dee, a
Cynin Beltex The Beast daughter.
Jimmy saw his Champion, Ochermuthill Hedley, this time by
Wannop’s Fall Out Boy and out of the Airyolland Conga-sired
Ochtermuthill Eye Eye, sold to Monzie Farms for 1800gns.
