Calling All Members From Amy Minyard BAFTA Events And Membership Officer
As 2003 begins we are thinking about the events programme for the upcoming year. We ended 2002 on a high with Spike Lee and Sir John Mills, and we would like your input as to the kinds of events you’d like to see taking place at the Academy.
Are you interested in specific training, do you want to learn more about how interactive enter- tainment will affect the film and television industry, or do you want to see more interviews with high- profile figures in our industries?
The Academy’s events pro- gramme aims to educate and entertain, and we have a mission to address issues in all areas of BAFTA’s activities – Film, Television, and Interactive Entertainment.
As a membership-led organi- sation, it is crucial that our activi- ties reflect what you want from the Academy, so please let us know your thoughts and opinions.
Café@195
afé@195 is open daily from 9.30 to 17.00 for coffee, teas, light snacks, etc. Lunch is served daily from 12.30 to 14.30.
If the event is in the David Lean Room, the Café will only be open if there is a Membership Screening in the theatre that evening.
Members do not need a guest card in order to bring guests in to use the facilities.
The Table d’hôte menu is avail- able once again this year to all members at lunchtime from 12.30 with last orders at 2.15pm. However, due to its popularity, members are requested to call Roux Fine Dining in advance to reserve their table. Reservations must be made before 11am on the day that the member wishes to dine.
For more information or to make a reservation, please tele- phone 020 7292 5814.

here is often some confusion over how to book for screen- ings and events. The informa-
ferable and must be presented in order to obtain tickets.
Members can bring a guest to the Screenings only if they have a guest card (£125 per annum). Guest cards do not entitle a guest to attend Members’ screening, or other events, with- out the named Member, and guests cannot collect tickets with- out the member present.
We regret to inform you that members or guests of members arriving late will not be admitted into the theatre. Members are reminded to check all screening times as they do vary and that all films com- mence at the specified time.
ETvents
ickets for Events need to be booked in advance using the booking form provided in the monthly programme or by email- ing events@bafta.org. If emailing, please include ALL information requested in the programme including your membership num- ber and address as tickets will be posted to you.
Seats may be available on the day of the event for those who haven’t booked, but are not guaranteed. Please arrive 10 min- utes before the start time of the event, otherwise your seat may be allocated to someone on a waiting list.
Unless stated otherwise in the programme, events are free for members, and members with a guest card are entitled to bring one free guest along to each event. For non-members, please refer to the information listed for each specific event for price details.
While most events are open to members and non-members, occasionally events are restricted to BAFTA members only. This infor- mation will be listed at the end of the write up for each event.
