The whole deal from Technicolor Creative Services UK
A s the entertainment world moves rapidly from ana-
logue to digital, Roger Beck is a man with a mis- sion. Beck is CEO of the British arm of Technicolor Creative Services, which is
backed by the massive technical and financial resources of its parent com- pany, the French electronics and multi- media giant Thomson.
And he shares its vision of offering content creators and distributors a full spectrum of end-to-end services around the globe.
Technicolor Creative Services has grown organically worldwide by mar- rying established entities like the film lab CFI, post facilities Complete Post and Complete Sound, and Covitec, Technicolor’s Montreal-based front end lab and post facilities.
Recent acquisitions including sound editorial house Miles O’ Fun, award win-
ning DVD compression and authoring studio Still In Motion, and Vidfilm International Digital with facilities in Los Angeles, London and Singapore.
It also has new units like Technique, which offers digital inter- mediates, D-Film, offering video to film conversions, a media asset manage- ment services division and a new post production facility in New York which has just opened.
Technicolor Creative Services UK division was launched in February
2002, when Technicolor acquired Vidfilm International Digital.
Vidfilm UK had previously acquired Anvil Post Production, one of the country’s finest theatrical and tele- vision audio post production facilities, in July 2000 and both Vidfilm and Anvil were integrated along with Technicolor Imaging and DVD to become Technicolor Creative Services UK in August 2002.
Beck, who had been Vidfilm’s man- aging director for the previous nine
