blue’s parent company, VTR plc, heads a group of firms in the media sector, whose core activities comprise all aspects of film and television pro- gramme post-production. From a small video editing operation formed in 1984, VTR has grown to a turnover in excess of £23 million with pre-tax prof- it of £2.7 million in 2001, employing
around 250 people. The company was quoted on the old “third” market in 1987 and obtained a full Stock Exchange listing in 1994.
