     ollowing its two Hollywood Film FAwards last week, and now with
a further eight Moet British
Independent Film Award nominations, The King’s Speech has surely sealed its spot as a front runner for top prizes this year.
It is cited for Best Independent Film, Director (Tom Hooper), Screenplay (David Seidler), Actor (Colin Firth) Supporting Actor (Geoffrey Rush, Guy Pearce), Supporting Actress (Helena Bonham Carter) and Technical Achievement (Production Designer Eve Stewart).
Other BIFA nominated films originated on Fujifilm are Another Year (Director Mike Leigh, Actress Ruth Sheen, Actor Jim Broadbent, Supporting Actress Lesley Manville); Africa United (Debs Gardner- Paterson for Feature Directing Debut); Tamara Drewe (Supporting Actress Tamsin Greig); and
A Prophet (Best Foreign Film).
The BIFAs are presented at Old Billingsgate on December 5.
t was a bumper year for titles Ioriginated on Fujifilm at this
year’s Bfi London Film Festival.
Among them were The King’s Speech – recent recipient of Best Director (Tom Hooper) and Best Supporting Actress (Helena Bonham Carter) at the 14th Annual Hollywood Awards - Another Year,
Africa United, Patagonia, Black Swan, The First Grader, The Princess Of Montpensier, and A Screaming Man showing in categories ranging from Galas and Special Screenings to New British Cinema.

Edwardian ghost story. Directed by Andy de Emmony (West Is West) and photographed on 35mm Fujicolor ETERNA 400T 8583 by Rob Hardy BSC, it tells the chilling tale of a man’s encounter with an apparition on a desolate beach and how this haunting begins to hound him.
According to the filmmakers, the production has taken its inspiration
from films like The Orphanage, The Shining and various Japanese horror movies.
Shot in the late autumn in South East England, Whistle is to air on BBC2 at Christmas.
