                                 Selected as the Closing Night Gala for this year’s 44th Regus London Film Festival, Born Romantic celebrates life in the capi- tal with more than just a dash of Latin-American spirit. A bittersweet romantic comedy, it follows the sometimes turbulent lives of three couples - Frankie and Eleanor (Craig Ferguson, Olivia Williams), Eddie and Jocelyn (Jimi Mistry, Catherine McCormack),
and Fergus and Mo (David Morrissey, Jane Horrocks) - whose paths criss-cross at a sultry Salsa club.
The other common factor in the offbeat tale is Jimmy (Adrian Lester), their rather angelic cab driver and wisdom-dispensing confidant.
From Scots writer-director David Kane and producer Michele Camarda, who last collaborated on another ensemble film, This Year’s Love, Born Romantic was hatched after a visit to a Salsa club in London. In fact, it was

Kane explains: “A friend took me and I immediately imagined a film taking place around me. The music
was fantastic and the dancing very sexy. It was just the setting I needed for the characters that had been kicking around my head for months.
“The structure of the film is
deceptively simple, various stories revolving round a quiet, lonely mini-cab driver. People tell him their problems and he listens.
