Specifications & Recommendations For Lift Car & Doors & Communal Crittall Windows
Lift - interior car decor and interior grill exterior door surfaces - all surfaces both sides
Communal (Crittall) windows on each half landing (5 in total)
On all 4 floors (ground, 1st, 2nd, 3rd) we will be spraying both the internal grill door and the exterior door (on both sides) a suitably attractive metallic colour to replace the Battleship grey at present. The dark grey frame will remain as is, most likely.
These are Crittall Metal Framed windows with attractive art deco stained glass but have fallen into disrepair. They do not open and close properly due to layers of old paint. We are having then all made to open and close correctly, the gears to work (on 3rd Floor) and all fitments, sliders, closers and window handles renovated and re- stored to their correct metal colours (the handles in brass hopefully).
The lift car interior will also be totally renovated with new surfaces, the walls and celing with small downlighters. The floor will also have a suitable hard wearing and attractive surface. A Mirror will also be installed. It is not our intention to replace the existing operation buttons but investigations are still ongoing. The Lift car also incorporates an internal (panic) phone direct to our appointed lift engineers.
Regrettably, although we can tidy them all up considerably, it is not possible to bring them back to their pristine 1917 self, but they will look much cleaner than now.
It should be noted that once this new renovation takes place, the lift car will be very expensively damaged by any misuse, be that overloading or simple vandalism perpetrated by inappropriate loads all of which will be charged to the perpetrators.
The rear Fire Escape stairs should be used for all removals (for incoming and outgoing tenants), or any overly large and bulky deliveries etc for all flats. We are requesting the Lift Engineers fit an alarm to sound when the lift is loaded over its safe
* Item colour still to be decided on consultation with Residents Association APPENDIX (iv)_BRIEF GENERAL WORKS SPECIFICATIONS_2
