Thank you for your email. Please find my comments to your concerns and some background information which I think are best described in a letter.
Here are a few home truths as regards Mitre House, which you may or may not be aware of and hopefully will be fully understandable thereby removing any further misunderstandings, misinterpretations or as you sometimes say, Oh I didn't realise that etc or thank you for explaining it, now I understand etc.
It would be helpful that you are made fully conversant of the present situation, which is:
1) As I understand it, you voted for Preference A (which of course is the preferred choice of Flats 9 and 5, also Flat 3 and indeed Flat 1 who of course have never even visited Mitre House, operate from Switzerland, and sub-let. Nevertheless, Paul always contacts the owner for important decisions out of courtesy. It doesn't actually matter what they want as they'll never visit, but simply sell in a few years, as indeed will Flat 3 as both these flats never stay for more that 3 or 4 years as you well know.
He also informs Flat 8's owner, Mr Leigh Pemberton in the same way, on important decisions to be made. Paul contacted Mr Leigh Pemberton advising him of the Vote and he told Paul, in a confirming email, his vote was Preference B. Paul also informed him that his tenant, Lisa, also liked the Preference B ideas.
Again, as I understand the situation, you met with Paul in his flat where he discussed with you, and indeed showed you samples of lights and colours etc. Paul also explained to you that some of the ideas that Susanna was recommending, Brass Lanterns, a black lift etc was not something he would like to confront on a daily basis, nor indeed were some of the other ideas she was recommending in Preference A. I believe he also told you that Michele preferred the Tiffany lights, when she visited his flat, as opposed to Brass Lanterns and she did not agree with painting the lift black. But like you, she did prefer more muted, neutral colour for walls etc.
I think Paul made clear to you that a vote for Preference B did not mean you could not also make comment of, in fact, all items to be discussed such as colour schemes. Preference B was really just to go for a more imaginative, warm and attractive, somewhat unique and artistic look as opposed to Preference A which was cold and predictable as many other interiors are in blocks of flats, as Susanna says, in and around Sloane Square. I believe you are now very familiar with various properties in the locale and will now be very aware of other interiors, be they good, bad or indifferent. Preference B was to be anything but, indifferent.
