n October 22, at the SMPTE Conference in Pasadena, California, Fuji Photo Film Co announced the introduc- tion of the first of a completely new generation of Motion Picture Colour Negative Films, ETERNA 500. This high speed (EI500) tungsten balanced film stock is characterised by exceptionally fine grain, excellent
colour saturation and accurate flesh tones. ETERNA films have been designed to give superb performance in transfer to the digital post-production platform, as well as when printed onto Positive film in the traditional way.
ETERNA 500 is expected to become available early in 2005. Further members of the new ETERNA family of films will be announced in due course.
On behalf of Fuji Photo Film Co Japan, Fuji Photo Film (UK) Ltd has commissioned Glory Film Co to make a demonstration film of the new ETERNA film range, entitled Lights 2, for world- wide use. This is currently in post-production. Full details of the new product and the making of the demonstration film will be published in the next issue of EXPOSURE.
