section of the demo film was shot in parallel. Naturally we were extremely privileged to have Alex Thomson on board.
“The entire demo film was shot in four days around the August bank holiday and then we went straight into post-production. Dillistone had already gathered togeth- er a major force of service industry companies to assist with The King’s Troop project and so we were able to
take advantage of this to support the F-500 demo film pro- ject.
“We’ve had tremendous support from so many people and it’s appropriate to use these pages to thank them all: a full list appears at the end of the article. “As on all productions, a number of amusing incidents took place. Arriving at the Chase location, Kathryn, our pro- duction assistant, saw all the Pipeway construction
gear laid out. Not realising it was part of the set she phoned Glynis the production manager in a panic to say, ‘You’d never guess, but they’re digging up the road right where we want to shoot!’
“Also on Chase, after much rehearsal we went for a live take and to prepare for this we had a water bowser to wet the road. Twenty minutes later it started raining and ten minutes after that it was raining so hard that we had to suspend shooting for a while; a typical English summer night!
“Take a look at the old down and out in the Chase sequence. That’s in fact me in heavy disguise. The other one down by the burger bar is none other than our own Roger Sapsford. In the Menu sequence we
had six identical dresses for Amanda Nolan and six ties for Jonathan Nyrio, not to mention six Black Forest gateaux.
“The completed production has captured every- thing we set out to achieve and shows off the new F-500 stock to very good effect. It’s all a far cry from the stan- dard factory shots which made up demos of more than
20 years ago. In fact we’ve already started doing screenings in the UK showing the new films, including the new Super-F 64D and Super F-125.
“By the time this issue appears,” says Quinn, “we shall have started shoot- ing a demo film for the new Super F-250 and 250D films which will become avail- able later this year. In the meantime the 64D, 125T and 500T are currently avail- able. Watch this space!”
Fujifilm would like to thank the fol- lowing for their tremendous help and support during
