on several e-mails) as to why you were doing the work yourself and not AR Lawrence. initially you denied it, (in fact you even attempted to swear Bunny to silence), (my comment) where the devil do you get your fantasies from? Do I really have to drag poor ‘ole Bunny into court to deny or confirm? Swear him to silence for what - what possible silence was expected of him? Spraying the entire lift area, architraves, cage, interior door grills and doors, exterior doors, full floor masking etc etc is something pretty tricky to hide from anybody in the building....but the context of this e-mail of 11 September is that, now squeezed, you are forced to admit you have been doing work yourself and you are attempting to justify yourself.
(comment/reply):...As regards your "additional works” for which £31,765.21 has apparently been charged to MHML....
Another aberration - Nothing was charged to MHML - MHML saved £31,756 and spent £31,756 as the interior of Mitre House well evidences.
In this e—mail of 11 September 2014 you boasted: "I have, though, done the lift, which is NOT included in the Surveyors specifications ....... .. (I attach the quote £11,602 incl. vat to do what!
have succeeded in doing for under £200 of spray paint ........ .. Management have already saved Lessees exactly £1,177.56 OFF the budgeted £105,019. This has been accomplished by Management stepping in and doing various workings which we knew could be done at a more economical cost (In brief, shop signage ( COSTED BY A..R.LAWRENCE FOR £800 plus VAT which Management have produced for £125....and tidying up visible wiring and making Meter
Cupboards which A.R Lawrence casted at £922 plus Vat for 3 meter cupboards and Management have produced same for £648 TO ALSO INCLUDE BOXING IN THE LOOSE WIRING).
(comment/reply): yes, this refers to the “game, set and match” email of 13 September 2014 sure- ly....hardly boasting, just announcing what the situation is for the benefit of all lessees including your client - can you show me an email from her requesting that NO SAVINGS ARE WANTED, or PLEASE RETURN ANY SAVINGS AS WE DON”T WANT THEM SPENT ON ADDITIONAL WORKS OUTSIDE OF THE SCHEDULE OF WORKS....etc etc
You can’t, so it’s still “game, set and match...”
What you were stating or implying in that e-mail was that the lessees would actually be saving money; that they would be charged a total of around £1,000 for the lift painting (not that the lessees wanted a gold lift), for the signage and for boxing in the loose wiring. instead they seem to have paid £31,765.21 - more than twice (according to your figures above) what AR Lawrence would apparently have charged for the same work. in fact they have ended up with some nasty cheap plastic stickers for signs and a cheap lift interior falling apart which will have to be redone. The lessees wanted a proper refurbishment, not a shoddy DIY job.
(comment/reply): this is too ridiculous to even answer sensibly - £31,765.21 - more than twice (according to your figures above) what AR Lawrence would apparently have charged for the same work - how can you possibly know what AR Lawrence would have charged as you only have Wade & Hemi who quoted £60,000 - MHML managed to do it all for £31,756... so please, no more non- sense.
And as for - ended up with some nasty cheap plastic stickers for signs and a cheap lift interior falling apart which will have to be redone. The lessees wanted a proper refurbishment, not a shoddy DIY job. I suggest you visit Mitre House to witness these nasty cheap plastic stickers for signs and a cheap lift interior falling apart and then repeat your comment! Mrs Hillgarth’s comments are already proven unreliable!
If you want to see cheap and nasty, have a gander at Mrs Hillgarth’s Flat 5 front door - a perfect example - and then have a look at Flat 6’s door opposite to see “class and style”....
Paragraph numbered 1 in your latest letter of 1 November 2016 states somewhat mysteriously: ”Mrs Hillgarth along with some other lessees (including myself and my co-directors} were not aware of any additional works requested/required/expected such as Emergency Lighting, new /light fitments, new electrics, auto sensors etc, a lift refurbishment etc etc". Then in paragraph numbered 2 you immediately contradict yourself by saying that: “we (ie yourself and your co- directors) considered these additional workings to be requested/required/expected".
(comment/reply): Re-visit the context, Mr Begg..... my letter of 1st November stated clearly...
I think we can agree that, leaving aside the admitted out of time demands to see original invoices
(not copies) of the 2014 Works invoices totalling £105,877, we are left with the following accusations which also includes fraud and blackmail and various other miscellaneous misdemeanors. All obviously denied to date in correspondence.
