ABOUT US Ohm Foundation
The Ohm Foundation is a non-pro t organization founded by the Asian News Network (ANN) in 2017. The Foun- dation’s purpose is to drive society to embrace socio-cultural issue, using creative industry as the vehicle to meet the ends. In 2018, Ohm Foundation will be hosting 3 main projects: The Ohm Festival, The Miss Bangkok, and The Preservation of Rattanakosin Art and Culture of Thailand (PRACOT.)
The Ohm Festival prescribes to the parade of the 8 Deities of Ratchaprasong District. Normally, the Ohm Festival will be held on New Year Day every year to celebrate the Bangkokian’s faith in Devarajabuddha. In 2018, The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has declared “Ohm Festival” as the annual parade of Bangkok. It will be held on Songkran (Thai New Years); April 13th, 2018 at the Lumpinee Park.
The Miss Bangkok is an unique beauty pageant, prescribing to the recognition of women’s equality and oppor- tunity in work place. Teen and young ladies will be competing on their desired or “Dream” career. Today Thai women are advancing to higher places in the public, private, and NGO’s. Noticably, there’re more women joining the army, the police, the judiciary, etc. More women are earning higher places in Thailand’s Top rms; the Thai- land Securities Exchange, Banking, and Law rms. Even in the Scienti c Fields, Thai women are rising to the top seat, and the Ohm Foundation cease on this trend. The Foundation is setting up a stage for women to recognize their potential to be in charge of their future.
The Preservation of Rattanakosin Art and Culture of Thailand (PRACOT) is the project to document the Lai Thai Classical Art Pattern of the Rattanakosin Era onto the website. In the preservation process, the PRACOT web- site will also serve as a window for artistic community to display their art skills and art products. All in all, the website is an Open Source for the general public, linking the art and cultural community to the market.
These three projects are the social contribution of the Ohm Foundation. It has the vision to drive Thailand Cre- ative Industry to serve society and the people with an ardent commitment. The Foundation is looking forward to complete all this project with your generous support. Together, Ohm Foundation will walk the society to bring a better future for the social, art, and culture of mankind.
