BUILDING PERMITS
Single-Family Permit Numbers Remain Steady
Indianapolis,IN– – TheBuilders Association of Greater Indianapolis (BAGI) announced that in the Greater Indianapolis Nine-County area, Single-Family Building Permits rose 9 percent last month compared to June 2016 numbers. 3,150 new home permits have been issued year-to- date compared to 3,003 last year, continuing to support a stable trend for the region.
“Although the Central Indiana new home construction market remains steady, there is unrealized opportunity for housing products on smaller lots that provide the type of lifestyle many
homebuyersseek,”saidCraig Jensen, BAGI President.
“As an industry, we continue to work to address the demand and the regulatory barriers that limit us so that we can continue to meet the needs of these ever-changing demographics.”

followed by Marion County with 539
and Hendricks County reporting 473. Morgan and Johnson Counties continue to see the most signi cant percentage increases so far this year.
