“After nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world. Thou shalt not is soon forgotten, but Once upon a time lasts forever.”
—Philip Pullman
What do a balloon phobia, too much arugula, and a wedding with wild
pigs have in common? They are stories recently heard at the monthly Do Tell Story Swap in Santa Rosa. “Telling stories connects us to our roots and to our common humanity. Plus, it’s fun and entertaining!” says host and professional teller Elaine Stanley. The Swap maintains an atmosphere of acceptance and assistance to adults who share their fun or folk, true or tall tales. All are welcome to attend.
Do Tell Story Swap meets at 7 pm the second Tuesday of every month at 2000 Humboldt Street, Santa Rosa. Teen and adults listeners and storytellers are welcome! See dotellstoryswap.org or call (707) 545-5977 for details.
