“Color Beyond Profusion: an Unexpected Collaborative Surprise”, an art collaboration by Karina Nishi Marcus and Jill Keller Peters opens Friday, August 3rd, with an artist reception, 6 - 7:30 pm, at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts in Sebastopol. The show runs August 3 - September 9.
For this exhibit, “Color Beyond Profusion”, three color palettes that stretch the artists’ customary quiver of colors
were selected both by random and
educated approaches. With this
 collaboration, Nishi and Keller Peters, both passionate colorists, treated color in dissimilar ways. They examined new avenues

the co-selected palettes presented
both problems and opportunities
to explore and discover new
adventures in the range and
scope of the world of color. The
collaborative paintings are fashioned in acrylic and oil on canvas and paper.

Through wide ranging conversations at SoCo Coffee, amid the ongoing chess games, our trust that was needed for this collaboration was shaped. We developed our mutual knowledge from various studies and explored our ideas, plans and strategies to manifest such an all- encompassing endeavor.”
