Dear Readers,
Last month was a challenge for me personally. My best friend was dying of cancer and died on the day I went to press. We did find it amusing that she chose April Fools Day, but it wasn’t funny. I miss her every day.
I wrote about the artist Sam Sirdofsky in the March edition. She was an inspiration for me in many
ways, and we laughed together. That’s one of the
best parts of friendship, someone with whom
 to laugh and play.
The last piece of her art I purchased while
she was alive was a painted rock with a mermaid. We were on our way to the coast
for a Bucket List day. When we dropped
more of her rocks at the Russian River
Gallery in Guerneville, I just had to buy it. Since then, someone accidentally bought the rock from the window display of Sam’s art. If you have it or see it, please bring it to the gallery for a full refund. I would love to have it home.
I know “with attachment comes suffering” and I am a very attached person. So I suffer losses. It’s not the end of the world or insurmountable, but I would be stupid to not reach out to Gazette readers to see if Sam’s mermaid rock could find its way back to my home. Thanks for looking!
Life balances out death in the long run. When we love we often use the phrase “tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”. So on with LIFE...with JOY...with participating in our communities as much as we have time, energy, and commitment. THANK YOU every person who puts your life into your home. We need people like you!
