West County Winter Shelter Needs: The Winter Shelter in Guerneville could use blankets, sleeping bags, sock and shoes. They are also looking for volunteers during the day between the hours of 8-4. Contact: erica.champion@ cfsa-sonoma.org
Still, it is a relief to again have rain and hope that the drought might be over. My neighbor, Durs Koenig, reports that since October, or when the  rst rain was after summer, we have received 43.205” of rain up to now – the same amount as we received all last year October through May, 43.05”.
Forestville Park Market Fans!
I recently accepted the role of Market Manager for Forestville and I am aexcited for this oportunity too be a part of building our community.
I want to build upon an already successful market that will create a weekly market geared towards you. What kind of vendors will have you returning every week? Or are you someone who enjoys attending special events and hanging out with neighbors and friends in the special wine lounge? Want to enjoy an al fresco dinner at the market? What food vendors would you recommend?

Local Updates
The Forestville Planning Association will host a Forestville Town Meeting on Sunday afternoon, March 26, 3-5, in the Social Hall of the Forestville Methodist Church. Come meet our new County Supervisor, Linda Hopkins, hear about County issues which impact Forestville, and get an update on the development of the Downtown Park. Mark your calendars!
The Chamber of Commerce has a new President, Wendi Gianni (Flowers). To post something on the Chamber website or on the community board at the corner of Covey and 116, contact Wendi at wendi_gianni@sbcglobal.net or call her salon number (887-2561).
Widening of Mirabel Road: We were promised by the County that work would begin on the widening this year. Now we hear that the whole project has been postponed. The estimated cost to complete the construction work is approximately $5.9 million. But the project is not fully funded and will remain “idle” until TPW can secure the construction funding needed to complete the project. Meanwhile, the road remains unsafe for pedestrians, runners, and bikers. ...A good issue to bring to Linda Hopkins at the Town Meeting in 3/26!
Tiny Town Cafe! Welcome to the Cafe’s new owners/hosts: Sreypov (Julie) Ga and Federico Aguilar (Lico). Julie and Lico are a charming couple who have brought new energy to the Cafe, along with an expanded menu (hot and cold sandwiches, breakfast foods, fresh/warm pastries, as well as good co ee). I just had the #6 egg sandwich (avacado, salsa & cheese on a croissant)--hefty and delicious, along with my usual yummy latte. And for El Molino students, before or after school, they are o ering a 20% discount through the end of February.
El Molino Little League reports that try outs on the 4th & 11th of February at the Youth Park, and, yes, kids can still register in February. “We like to

Forestville United Methodist Church will again be holding an Irish Potato Supper with music and a silent auction on Sunday, March 12th in Wiebe Hall at the church. The event starts a 6PM. The Forestville Education Foundation thanks all the generous businesses who participated in another festive Holiday Window Painting fundraiser. With their support and the creativity and e orts of many volunteers, over $1000 was raised for the Arts at Forestville School and Academy. What a great community and wonderful tradition!
