Preserving Fire History
In response to the firestorms that ravaged much of the North Bay region in October 2017, the Museums of Sonoma County has two projects in development under the banner of The Fire Project.
 By Date
The Fire Collection: The creation of a permanent historical record of one of the most important and pivotal events in Sonoma County history is
of great importance to our community. With this in mind, we are collecting firestorm related objects and documentation. From the materials collected, the museum will develop a permanent collection and will curate exhibitions to commemorate our shared experience.
Coming Soon: The Fire Wall. Please watch for an announcement in the very near future inviting members of the Sonoma County community to share their stories and memories in this collective project of creative expression. When completed, the Fire Wall will be a searchable, digital community repository of creative reflections and personal stories about the fires. It will live online and is being designed to be inclusive, broad in scope, and empowering to all who participate and experience it.
