HELP SENIORS AND OTHERS WITH THEIR TAX RETURNS
The Sonoma-Napa District of the Tax-Aide Program, which is a 100% volunteer organization, is looking for more volunteers for the upcoming tax season. Each year we help more than 5,000 people do their taxes, at no charge, but we could help even more people if we had more volunteers.
We're primarily looking for two
types of volunteers: COUNSELORS,
who work directly with clients, using
online tax software, to prepare tax returns (for which we provide all needed training), and CLIENT-FACILITATORS, who greet clients and help them organize their tax paperwork. But we're also looking for volunteers interested in providing computer support, doing administrative work, or helping with publicity.
We have 12 sites in Sonoma County, from Cloverdale to Petaluma, and from Sebastopol to the City of Sonoma, so no matter where you live, there's probably a site not far from you. We ask for a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week from February 1 to mid- April, plus training time in January. All needed training is provided at no cost, of course.
More information can be found at aarp.org/tavolunteer or by emailing the district coordinator at taxaide4sonomaco@yahoo.com.
