When you walk into the room, a friendly gentleman o ers you a glass of wine; a display of an unlikely assortment of amateur artworks is posted on a wall; at a table nearby, a half-dozen or so people are busy with scissors and glue sticks, while others are engaged in a lively conversation with the guest of honor.

Attendees/visitors are encouraged to wear their “down home” casual clothing, create artwork of their
own, party favors that they can take with them, and celebrate the Center’s six- month anniversary since re-opening after the January, 2016 re that devastated the original building.
The public is cordially welcome to visit the Health Center, at the corner of 3rd and Church Streets, from 5-7 PM on Friday, November 3, 2017, to meet Karen, enjoy refreshments, and enter into an interactive artistic experience.
Artist receptions, typically, are wine-and-cheese a airs, where people stand, meet the artist, and make small talk
as they peruse the paintings on the walls. However, at Guerneville’s November 3 “1st Friday Art Walk” event, local artist, Karen Lockert’s opening reception at the West County Health Center, will be somewhat di erent.
Call to Artists
Featured at this event, along with the aforementioned wine, and healthy food, is a selection from Lockert’s “Home” series of mixed media interpretation of some of West County’s “ordinary” vintage buildings – homes and businesses, unique to this area.
