July was a spectacular month in Bodega Bay! The Chamber’s Maritime Celebration allowed locals and guests to safely enjoy celebrating our maritime heritage. Although there were no “organized” fireworks, there was plenty of celebration activities around the Bay. It was a good old-fashioned family fun day! Had we lit up the sky with fireworks this year, some joked it would once again be “fogworks” due to the heavy fog that evening. We are already looking for volunteers to help with next year’s events! Contact the Chamber at chamber@bodegabayca.org

Green Body is the new movement which follows the scientific research that being outdoors lowers blood pressure, is an energy booster, gives us better focus and more. However its not a new idea. We all know how we feel after waking under the giant redwoods or nature of any kind Learn more here mentalfloss.com/article/70548/11-scientific-benefits- being-outdoors. And Red Soul/heart is the idea of being with people you love and who love you. Sharing stories, thoughts, and ideas with those close to you as you enjoy the outdoors can be the most uplifting thing you can do for yourself. Anyone up for a good walk at the ocean? Or along the River?
August is usually a bit hotter than other months. But in the coast we have the rolling fog so you can find comfort in the coastal climes and beaches, tide pooling in safe areas (always putting everything back) and enjoy a few local creeks. Soda Springs in Annapolis is a wonderful hidden gem with a few old time rock BBQ pits. parks.sonomacounty.ca.gov/Visit/Soda-Springs-Reserve/ My boys spent most days here enjoying the swim holes. I recently made a visit with my youngest son Jake and granddaughter Makyla, and it hasn’t changed. Many Memories.
Memories of people and places are important.
