Believe it or not spring is right around the corner. Spring is always a festive time in Windsor with blooming trees on the Town Green, mustard plants rising in the vineyards and a flurry of other events.

The much-anticipated opening of Sweet T’s restaurant will be happening on Tuesday, March 7th. Dennis and Ann Tussey, along with their partner George Ah Chin, and a full crew, have been working tirelessly to bring Windsor the new Sweet T’s 2.
Join us for a lively book discussion. This month we will be discussing Caramelo, by Sandra Cisneros. Ask any library staff member about checking out a copy before the meeting.
Almost everyone knows Sweet T’s was located off Fountain Grove, in Santa Rosa, but was destroyed in the Tubb’s fire in October 2017. Although there have been a few challenges along the way Windsor is honored to be their new home.

Integrated Pest Management, or IPM, is a method of dealing with garden pests in a way that considers the whole ecosystem not just the pest. The
focus in this talk is weeds. The IPM principles give the home gardener a set of strategies and tools to manage weeds while minimizing risks to people and the environment. In this talk you’ll learn the principles and how to apply them to your garden, whether large or small, whether you’re growing vegetables, fruits, or landscape plants. We’ll cover common weeds and have time for your questions too.
24 Hour a Day Healing Experience: THE WALL THAT HEALS exhibit includes a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial along with a Mobile Education Center. The 2019 tour began in San Antonio, Texas and will visit 34 communities during the year. The traveling exhibit honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War and it bears the names of the more than 58,000 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.
Windsor Grange 410:
Corned beef and cabbage in March? Windsor Grange will be enjoying
a Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner at the March meeting. The price of admission: one potluck dish to add to the menu. Potluck style dinner starts at 7:00 on Thursday, March 21 at Windsor Grange, 9161 Starr Rd. The Grange is an active part of the community and welcomes visitors to come and get acquainted while sharing an Irish potluck dinner.
The Wall will be on display in the Wilson Ranch Soccer Field at 7955 Cameron Dr. along with the Mobile Education Center, March 28-31st. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is one of the most visited memorials in our nation’s capital, with more than 5.3 million visitors each year. However, many Americans have not been able to visit what has become known to many as “The Wall”.
Garden Club:
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF), the organization that built The Wall in 1982, wants to give all veterans and their family members across America an opportunity to see the Memorial to spread the healing legacy of The Wall, and educate people about the impact of the Vietnam War.
Windsor Garden Club Moves to Mondays
The exhibit includes The Wall replica and a Mobile Education Center comprised of digital displays of photos of local service members whose names are on The Wall, letters and memorabilia representative of items left at The Wall in D.C., a map of Vietnam and a chronological overview of the Vietnam War. At every stop, thousands of citizens will be invited to visit to honor those veterans who served and learn about the war.
Windsor Garden Club is changing things up in 2019! Beginning Feb. 11, the club will meet on the second Monday of the month in the community room at the Windsor Senior Center, 9231 Foxwood Drive in Windsor. The club has three events we put on for the community: The Windsor Flower Show, Mother’s Day at the Market, and Father’s Day at the market. And we have two fundraisers

learn more about arranging flowers and spend time with other beginning designers in free hands-on sessions led by a professional, this is the group for you.
