Glad the recent flooding wasn’t too bad. It seems Monte Rio has taken over Cazadero as the second rainiest place in Sonoma after Venado. Now it’s time to move on to Spring and new beginnings!
Hey groovy Guerneville! I hope everyone was able to get their property cleaned up after our little flood on Valentine’s Day; what is it with Mother Nature and Valentine’s Day on the River, anyways? We are very thankful to have our March sunshine and blossoms upon us now!
There have been a lot of changes recently on the food front. Winter

Dave Blomster has renovated and reopened Pat’s, minus the bar, for breakfast and lunch and it’s looking good. 3 Alarm Grill is reportedly changing hands with Crista taking over. She is unstoppable!

Upon recommendations from others, I recently tried Lightwave Coffee & Kitchen at the Skateboard Park. The owners, Ori and Gal Ginzburg, were recently married in January. They are great folks and the food is a welcome addition to our town. The ShakShuka is fantastic. ShakShuka is a North African Middle Eastern egg dish that is very popular in Israel. It is vegetarian and gluten free as are many of their menu selections. I highly recommend you trying it if you haven’t already. Lightwave Coffee & Kitchen is open 8am to 5pm every day.
parents are invited to have Coffee with the Principal at 8 am in the school office. This is a great way to learn more about the school programs, curriculum and events at our local school. And don’t forget, (I’m sure the kids won’t let you) that Spring Break is March 18-22nd! While we are on the subject of school,

In wrapping up, I would like to say congratulations to Susan J. Packer, Zephyr/formerly Frank Howard Allen Real Estate! Hard to believe you actually retired!! After 43 years of dedication to and representing the River Area, we celebrate and thank you, my groovy friend!! I’m sure we will see Susan kayaking on the river or skiing down a mountain top, but she will truly be missed by the local “Real Estate Community”.
