This month there are 10 movies you should see in the theater. “Creed
II” is the sequel to “Creed” which stars Sylvester Stallone and Michael B Jordan. This film is appropriate for the whole family. It opens the day before Thanksgiving. Also opening that day is “Ralph Breaks the Internet” which is the sequel to “Wreck It Ralph”. Also appropriate for the whole family.
The film I’m excited to see this Thanksgiving is “Instant Family” starring Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne. Yes, it’s also appropriate for the whole family. Opening November 2nd is “Bohemian Rhapsody” starring Rami Malek who plays the iconic Freddie Mercury.

“Nobody’s Fool” starring Whoopi
Goldberg and the hilarious Tiffany
Haddish. Opening November 9th
is “The Grinch” starring Benedict
Cumberbatch and the loveable Angela Lansbury. Definitely appropriate for the whole family. Also opening November 9th is “A Private War” starring Rosamund Pike and Jamie Dornan. Look for Pike to earn another Oscar nomination. “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” starring Claire Foy also opens November 9th.
Johnny Depp fans will be happy that he’s back in the movies. He stars in “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindel Wald” with Eddie Redmayne. It opens November 16th. Also opening November 16th is “Widows” starring Viola Davis and Michelle Rodriguez. “Widows” was a hit at the Mill Valley Film Festival last month.

is the Napa Valley Film Festival which starts November 7th and ends November 11th. The film I’m excited about is “Green Book” starring Viggo Mortensen and recent Oscar winner Mahershala Ali. This is the opening night film showing at the Uptown Theatre in Napa. Tributes this year go to Geena Davis, Billy Bob Thornton and Laurence Fishburne. Go to nvff.org for more information. My good friend Frank Grillo will be at the film festival this year with his new film, “Wheelman” showing at the Uptown Theatre
in Napa at 830pm. Saturday November 10th. Wendy Moniz also stars and “Guiding Light” fans will know that she worked with Grillo on that show over 20 years ago.
If you haven’t had a chance to see “A Star is Born” yet you still have time to go! I guarantee you will love it and Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga are sure to receive Oscar nominations. For those of you who haven’t seen “Home Alone” in the theaters you have your chance November 18th and 21st at the Airport theater. Call 707 571 1412 for more information.
There are a lot of cool events at the Luther Burbank
Theater this month. Starting with “Straight Up Paula!”. Paula Abdul fans will be in their glory! November 7th is the date! My friend, Crystal Rangel, presents the 4th Annual Miss Latina Wine Country Grand Finale on November 9th at 6pm. Go to MissLatinaWineCountry@weebly.com for more information. Also at the Luther Burbank is “The Righteous Brothers” on November 18th. Finally, the return of Transcendence Broadway Holiday Spectacular. I saw it last year and it was amazing. It’s showing November 30th through December 2nd.
