Kyle Abbott — The Awakening of a Shamisen Player, Builder, and
Educator. - May 6 Kyle will be joined by Yuzu, a singer/songwriter and shamisen player from Japan, for a performance at Matsuri! Japanese Arts Festival in Santa Rosa’s Juilliard Park, 227 Santa Rosa Ave. Kyle Abbott has been playing shamisen since 2004. The shamisen is a three-stringed traditional Japanese lute played with a plectrum, called a bachi in Japanese. Kyle has spent years pursuing instrument construction.
