In 1913, a volunteer group of workers and industry leaders created City of Hope on 10 acres of land in the California sun. Today, that singular vision of a philanthropic force to fight cancer, diabetes and other deadly diseases remains strong, partnering with City of Hope to raise hundreds of millions of dollars for pioneering research. These vital relationships result in therapies and treatments that benefit millions of people around the world every day.
City of Hope, is a globally recognized research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life threatening diseases. It is impossible to measure the global impact from City of Hope. City of Hope is one of only 51 comprehensive cancer centers in the nation. Our expert researchers and physicians pioneer research and new therapies to find cures, save lives and transform the future of health. More than 50,000 patients a year come through our doors. And we bring hope to millions more around the world through discoveries like synthetic human insulin and the breakthrough cancer drugs Herceptin, Erbitux, Rituxan and Avastin.
