In 1983, a small group of philanthropic leaders formed the Hardware/Homebuilding Industry with City of Hope. The group has grown to encompass a nationwide cross-section of manufacturers, retailers, distributors, manufacturers’ representatives and related members. Today, the Hardware/ Homebuilding Industry remains one of the strongest teams in City of Hope’s national network of dedicated volunteers.
This industry’s support continues to support the state-of-the-art facilities with the ability to transform novel research discoveries in to viable treatment options for patients. Since its inception, the industry has raised more than $165 million — a true testament to the impact of these volunteer efforts.
This year, as we honor yet another icon within the Hardware/Homebuilding Industry, Bill Boltz, executive vice president, Merchandising at Lowe’s, as the 2021 HHI Spirit of Life® Honoree — City of Hope’s most prestigious honor, presented to an esteemed community of industry leaders around the world who have made a significant commitment to support those in need.
