MESSAGE FROM THE 2021 SPIRIT OF LIFE® HONOREE
I hope this finds everyone healthy and safe during these times. As we continue to face unprecedented challenges ahead, the innovation, ingenuity, compassion and sheer determination of our industry help propel us forward to a brighter future.
It is truly humbling to be chosen as the National Business Products Industry’s 2021 Spirit of Life® honoree. On behalf of all my colleagues at International Paper, I offer thanks and best wishes for your business’s efforts as we SUSTAIN HOPE in 2021. I’m excited to build upon the wonderful leadership of my predecessor, Stephanie Dismore of HP. She — and all of you — surpassed all expectations in a challenge-riddled year, making the REINVENT HOPE campaign a success in the face of unprecedented obstacles raising $12.5 million in support of City of Hope.
It’s more important now than ever to fuel City of Hope’s pursuit of new solutions for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses. City of Hope researchers, scientists, physicians and staff work around-the-clock providing solutions for those that need them today while fueling the hope of finding cures for tomorrow. The commitment of the National Business Products Industry over the years demonstrates our industry’s compassion, unity and unwavering commitment in supporting City of Hope and its mission to finding the cures for diseases that affect so many we know and love.
The 2021 SUSTAIN HOPE campaign thematically aligns with International Paper’s DNA in stewarding the vitality of our forest ecosystems for future generations, but also to pave the way for a generation void of so many of the illnesses we face today – a mission City of Hope has committed themselves to for more than a century.
