I can’t tell you what it meant to our customers to provide them with their favorite hoagie or cup of coffee – it gave a sense of normalcy and comfort that we all so desperately needed as we navigated through fear and change.
You not only kept your stores running and propelled our steadfast purpose to fulfill lives, but you helped your team members on a daily basis, showing the power of friendship, teamwork and flying higher and faster on the strength of one another.
Winnie the Pooh also famously said, “You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.” This year, we showed the true meaning of boundless convenience. If our customers were home, we made it easy to get them their Wawa favorites through mobile ordering and delivery. We launched the new drive-thru concept and curbside-pickup, giving customers safe options to enjoy Wawa in a new and COVID-friendly way.
We have all proven that Embracing Change, Valuing People and Delighting Customers can help us navigate anything that comes our way, and that our commitment to fulfilling lives continues to be as sweet as Pooh’s favorite pot of honey.
I can’t thank you all enough for making 2020 a successful year and a year that proved, without question, the power of our Values and that there is nothing we can’t accomplish or overcome today.
Winnie the Pooh said, “Some people care too much. I think it’s called love.” Thank you for caring beyond what is expected and for making our customers feel loved and fulfilled.
I am forever grateful.
